The advantage of the BA in multimedia and internet is that it allows you to open doors to several professions. Indeed, we have the chance to reach the entire digital world. We learn to develop websites and video games, use a film camera and do post-production, design websites (use all web design software such as the Abode pack) plus we also learn marketing strategies, and communication. This BA is very general and allows us to practice a huge number of professions. Concerning my possible career, there are 3 jobs that I could do that interest me : The first one is a web developer. The second one web designer and the last filmmaker.
- WEB DEVELOPER
- You should know that a web developer has several missions. First of all, the web developer mainly deals with the creation of websites, applications or computer programs with the writing of the different lines of code that meet the demands of businesses or individuals. So, it's necessary to master coding languages such as HTML, CSS, Java, PHP, React...and have a solid web culture. But there is not only that to do! In fact, he is able to identify the customer's needs and offer them suitable solutions. He ensures the maintenance of the website and of course check their coding regularly, making changes to improve its operation. This is why being a good developer requires patience, rigor and a sense of listening. A web developer never works alone. The web developer can work under the authority of the web project manager, the technical director, or even the IT manager. Furthermore, as part of his various missions, he is required to collaborate with graphic designers, web designers and other digital professionals, but his responsibility always remains programming. Thanks to the knowledge of each of them they will build a website or an application that meets the customer's request. Teamwork is, as one can imagine, essential.
- WEB DESIGNER
- A Web Designer is a creative profession. In reality, a web designer mainly focuses on the visual appearance of a web page. He will work to have a coherent rendering, with color, user-friendliness and bring a site to life. He is therefore responsible for creating the design and layout of a web page or application. He must therefore have both artistic and technical skills. He masters different graphics software: Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver…. Unlike web developers, who specialize in website structures and code. The web designer is responsible for establishing the specifications when creating a site. Thus, it affects not only the visual appearance of a site but also the ergonomics and the tree structure. Their objectives are to enhance the visual identity of their clients while meeting user expectations. Thus, web designers are responsible for many things that are important and necessary like the menus on the site, and smaller details like the fonts, colors and graphics to use. To become a web designer we obviously have to have creativity, be innovative, dynamic and listen to the client. As with a web developer, a webdesigner never works alone. The web designer works mainly in collaboration with the client and the project manager. He supervises and stays in direct contact with the work of graphic designers, infographic designers and web integrators in order to work together on the client's project. The web designer can work in a web agency specializing in corporate communications or advertising, in a multimedia creation studio, but most people choose to set up and work on their own. They choose to work for themselves because of a question of salary and availability. It’s still important to remember that the work of a web designer is very important in the creation of a web page or application.
- FILMAKER
- The filmmaker can work for cinema, television, advertising or for companies wishing to promote their activities. He directs various films (short or feature films, documentaries, broadcasts, commercials, video clips, etc.). He develops the scenario, and chooses the shots, specifying all the details (scenery, image, sound, etc.). He also often sets up castings for actors and location scouting. Thus, to become a filmmaker, imagination and creativity are essential to find solutions to all technical or artistic problems. The filmmaker works with a lot of people. We tend to think that a filmmaker only works with the actors when not at all. He must adapt and work with all kinds of people: agents, casting directors, actors, screenwriters, technicians (cameramen, editors, sound engineers), makeup artists, journalists, etc. The main qualities you must have are: observation, organization and rigor because no detail must escape him. And so today in the BA multimedia and internet that I am doing, I have the chance to learn even more about this sector because we have audiovisual subjects which allow you to discover the world of cinema.
